Has anyone on this site fished many of the WWA tournaments? Has this tourney series done well or is it going downhill? I thought it used to be one of the bigger team tourney series. I looked at last years results for the Minnesota division and other than the first tournament on the river, they struggled to get 20 boats in a tournament. They fish some really great bodies of water this year so I’m just looking for some feedback.

    Thanks!

I fished the St. Louis River last year and there wasn’t very many boats (maybe 20) and most were locals. What I have heard he had a good series for a few years. however that not what it was like for me, very lowkey. There is no stage, drama to wiegh-in or even people to watch the wiegh-in.

Personally, I think Mike Holt really help make the WWA good when he was the TD. I know I enjoyed it then. Mike has also been rather successful now on his own.

The tournaments that take place in Red Wing in the early spring alot of times are with cold windy days and I don’t think alot of people are out yet fishing which has kept the numbers down for that event at that time.
    Thanks, Bill

Usually the first weekend in March. Check out the ”freeze” thread for more details coming soon as Steve at Everts said he is contacting Bruce Selle to see if hes running it again. Thanks, Bill
