I was pretty happy to see 4 of the 5 of us that fish together make it to Mich. Looking forward to the championship. Congrats to all those that made it as well.

There’s nothing like bringing up the rear (25th). This just gives me incentive to go from “worst to first”. When are most of you planning to go out to Escanaba?

Congrats on making the cut Bill and to everyone else who made it. I plan on leaving on Wed morning as I may have a new job lined up but not sure yet I have been laid off for 3 months now, so if I do get the job I hope I can get the time off. If Anyone wants to car pool give me a shout.

This is my first year as a boater and my goal for the season was to make it to the championship…so close but oh so very far….…I am sitting in 27th right now so it would only take 2 guys that can’t or don’t want to go.
Oh well…if not there is always next year.
Good luck to all of you that did qualify…great job.

    Buckshot,

At last years league championship, I heard, so take it for what you will, that a few boaters (I won’t mention the state they were from) found the pre-fish catching so miserable that they went home before the pre-tournament meeting! Luckily a couple, that I was aware of, great guys (and awfully good fishermen), Bill Leonard and Jerry Hein were available and made for a memorable event for at least 2 co-anglers. The RCL may have found enough replacements for all of those that made the last minute decision to not fish but I was only aware of Bill and Jerry.

So what I’m saying is if your calendar permits, perhaps you can help someone pre-fish and be very close to the pre-tournament meeting just in case….. Of course it’s hard to compare the 2 bodies of water and pre-fishing will hopefully be fabulous but it’s simply a thought…..

Not a bad idea Kurt….unfortunately with limited vacation time and the fact that I don’t know anyone that qualified as a boater well enough for me to be comfortable sharing their spots and and fishing against them if by some chance I would end up getting in.
I have the vacation time and will definitely be there if a couple guys drop out and I get in but if I don’t…..there are some ducks and geese waiting for me to use my vacation time in October.
There is always next year….there are a couple guys switching to the boater side next year so there will be a group of us kinda working together to help each other out.
