I will make sure there are some at the Grumpy Old Men Tournament. Wish I could fish it myself, but I will have somebody bring some to the orientation meeting. I will also get some for our August 14th tournament there.

You bet it is a heck of a pay-out. Now we need to get all the teams signed up. We are currently in the high 20’s. We know we are not going to fill out, but the hoping for 50 plus boats. Heck, even with 50 plus boats, first place will be around $6000, so still a heck of a pay-out.

We will continue building this tournament in future years, but join us for our first year also!!

You can call me at (651)345-5035 if you need a flyer or additional information. I will be fishing Leech Sept. 14-19, so contact me soon! Anyone have some good pointers for Leech?!?!?!

We ended up with 24 teams. We knew it was going to be tough this year with the MWC the week before and the RCL championship the week after. Next year we will be doing some planning around these two events. However, payout is going to be great. Here is the breakdown.

    1st – $2400
    2nd – $1500
    3rd – $1150
    4th – $800

Not too bad for 24 teams!!!

Thanks Bill for the coverage. You were right, the weather was perfect and there was some awesome fish brought to the scale. Day 2 was a little tougher for most, but the most consistent pattern was the wingdams down by Wabasha. the Frontenac Sportsman’s Club would like to thank all of the participants that competed this year. For next year we are going to strive to make this tournament bigger and better, and most importantly, get an earlier September weekend set and get the flyers and entry letters out by May of 2005. I forgot an important note in regards to this tournament. $10.00 from each paid entry fee went into a conservation fund, which was donated to the Lake City Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Headquarters for habitat reconstruction and/or research on the Mighty Mississippi. With a big “Thanks” to all the participants this year, $230.00 was donated to the DNR.

To date, the Frontenac Sportsman’s Club has donated around $750,000.00, that’s right, $750,000.00 towards our outdoor heritages, such has land acuisitions, habitat improvements, scholarships and many, many more types of conservation activities. The Frontenac Sportsman’s Club and our 300 plus members are proud to continue this fine tradition. Feel free to contact me if anyone is interested in joining the Frontenac Sportsman’s Club.
