The entries are starting to pile in for our 12th Annual Walleye & Sauger Classic, which will be held in Lake City on August 14th. Last year 109 boats participated and the way the entries are coming in, we should top 109!! If you want a entry form, or would like more information, you can contact me at 651-345-5035.

PS: An announcement will made soon by the Frontenac Sportsman’s Club and Four Seasons Sports on an event which will be held Sept. 25th & 26th of this year. I know all you walleye tournament diehards will like the news!!

    Chappy:
This 2 person Team Tournament is on Aug. 14th from 7 AM – 3 PM out of Lake City, MN and Pool 4 is only allowed for fishing. There is a 5 fish, 15″ minimum The cost is $70 per team (there is also an optional $10 pot for biggest walleye/sauger). This is a 100% payback tournament and also is the last RCL qualifier for the 2004 RCL Championship. We also give $150 prizes for: Largest fish that is not a walleye, sauger or saugeye; least weight with a 5 fish limit; and new this year the Goose Egg Award, which will be a drawing for all teams that come in with no walleye, sauger or saugeye to weigh. We also have plenty of refreshments for everyone after the weigh-in. It is a great time and we have one of the biggest tournouts for local tournaments. Please feel free to give me a caoo at 651-345-5035 if you want more info or flyers sent to you.

    Sincerely,

    Jimmy Siewert

Can we enter the day of the tournament or do we have to register ahead of time?

We have had in the past people sign up the morning of the tournament. It makes it a lot easier though if you can sign up the night before so we can have your packet ready and I can have the pay-out checks completed prior to the start of the tournament as I will be fishing also. Hopefully this helps.

Is there a meeting the night before that we can sign up at? Also, do you Jim or anyone else know the name of the campground in Lake City?

Thanks Bill for giving the Campground Information. Yes, we will be having a meeting Friday evening (8/13 7:00 pm) at the American Legion in Lake City. The address is 224 S. Washington St., Lake City. The American Legion is really close to the Lake City Marina. Just look for the Yellow Dodge Ram parked in front (my wife made me buy that truck so she could always find me!!! Along with everyone else!!)
We should have openings that evening to sign up. Try to get there by 6:30 PM, so I can get you all set up. We are currently at 50 boats, so we are expecting between 80-90 this year.

You can sign up at the orientation meeting if there are spots available. The meeting begins at 7:00 PM, so if you are going to sign up that night, please show up around 6:00 PM. Otherwise get those entry’s sent in soon!

We are now up to 70 plus boats. To be safe we recommend coming to the orientation meeting at the Lake City Ameican Legion (224 s. Washington Street, across the street from the Federal Savings & Loan bank) betwen 6:00 – 6:15 Friday, August 13th for the orientation meeting. Please ensure, if you send by mail, that there is sufficient time for the mail to get to me. Feel free to give me a call at 651-345-5035 if you have any questions.

    Hey Jim,

When was the last time you checked your PM’s (Private Messages) here on the site? Click on the flashing red and white envelope at the top of the page just to the right of and slightly below the IDA logo.

    Thanks Jim.

Tournament is this Sat. Aug. 14th. [tomorrow] in Lake City. Sound be a good one as the rules meeting was jammed packed tonight with people standing in the doorway to hear the speaker. Weigh in at 3:00 at the Sailboat Marina in Lake City.
    Thanks, Bill
