No need to ask about the ramps, but how are the roads from the twin cities getting there? This compact ice is a b#$%# to drive on and without 4×4 how’s a guys chances with a minivan?

Are you stopping at Whole Foods and soccer practice first?

I drive a sport utility van front wheel drive and will NOT be driving my vehicle down there and don’t see it to be a good idea for you to try either

I’ll strap it to myself and haul it horse style if need be. Been waiting a long time for this and no stupid ice going to stop this guy. Just curious if I should try to get the dads truck for the excursion. Its a small light boat so a bit easier than some of your guys yachts y’all have.

I drove yesterday down there on WI 35 and that is nasty. I would stay in MN to Red Wing. That can’t be in worse shape, and has less hills and curves. Stay safe

I think a 4WD vehicle is a must. Even if the highways are fine, pretty much everything at Everts will be hard packed snow and ice. Even with a bunch of salt and people draining their trailers, the ramp will get icy. Heck, it’s going to be 40 degrees below the freezing point of water at take off time. I’m not sure how the hill down into Everts will be but that could be a little tough getting up pulling a boat with a van… how do I know…just ask Dean. He was nice enough to pull my boat to the top of the hill one winter evening after I tried three times to make it up but got stuck at the curve everytime. Luckily it was very late and I could just back down the hill without anyone coming up. I’ve never tried to do that again in cold weather.

The township has the “hill” well sanded. I think well be good there.

The ramps will need a few doses of sand and salt as always.

This photo was from Saturday or Sunday morning coming back home from the Bluffs.

Any more updates? Plan on leaving Champlin about 330ish giving us ample time. Seems Mn down to red wing is a safe bet.
