The fourth qualifier on the Wisconsin Circuit of the Gander Mountain
Grand National Walleye Cup (GNWC) is set for Sturgeon Bay on Sunday, July
18.
Gander Mountain GNWC Executive Director Bernie Barringer sees a lot of
excitement heading into this final qualifier.
“Sturgeon Bay is a great location for the final regular season
tournament in Wisconsin. The fishing opportunities are excellent, and I look
forward to an exciting finish,” said Gander Mountain GNWC Executive
Director
Bernie Barringer.
The Sturgeon Bay tournament will determine the teams that will qualify
for the Wisconsin State Championship of Walleye Fishing at Green Lake on
August 28-29.
Competing teams should be at Sawyer Park between 6-6:30 Sunday morning
to sign in and participate in mandatory boat inspections. The tournament
director will also have the GNWC trailer at the check-in site from 6-8 p.m.
on Saturday evening to answer questions and to take any late registrations.
The tournament hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with awards to follow.
Openings still exist for the Sturgeon Bay qualifier and Barringer
encourages interested anglers to contact him at 1-800-890-FISH (3474), or
email the GNWC at [email protected].
Barringer concluded, “This has been an exciting year for the GNWC in
Wisconsin. There is definitely a lot of enthusiasm among the teams who fish
the Wisconsin circuit.”
