Its getting close now guys. Just wanted to add a couple of updates for the contest tomorrow.

If you have not put in at Lions levee before a little care needs to be taken on the ramps. Both ramps are good to go for launching but for loading the the down river one can be rough. With both ramps do not back the trailers in to far or you may drop off the edge. The down river one is the worse and very uneven from one side of the trailer to the other. Like I said it should be no problem un loading but it you have a bigger boat you might want to load on the up river side of the dock.

The weather forecast for tomorrow is what it is. No matter what it is Ill be down to the landing by 7am tomorrow with a fresh forecast in hand. If by chance we get storms we are either going to late start the contest or reschedule for Sunday. I will not make any adjustment to the contest if needed until we see the weather first hand Saturday morning.

We will be providing zip lock bags and pencils for the boat sheets this year to help with keeping them dry. One of my concerns is wet sheets and cameras for recording the fish caught. These items need to work for the contest to happen so keep that in mind when preparing for tomorrow and we will hope for the best.

Any other questions or concerns let me know. See you guys at Lion’s in the morning.

Should note that a few of us will be at Park Diner at 6am on Saturday if anyone is looking for a fresh cup of coffee and maybe something to eat.

For any of you guys wondering what this rain has done to water levels here it is. Not much. I would expect a little better flow than we have seen the last few weeks but not much. With any luck it will get the fish going a little better.

Wow, that’s crazy. I had a bunch of rain in the bed of my truck. I thought we got a lot more rain recently. Is it just because it has been so dry? I thought in those conditions the water runs off more without being absorbed. Or is it that the rain a week or so ago has softened up the ground and made it more absorbent?

I know, why am I asking these questions here.

If its raining we will fish. If it thunder and lightening then its decision time. Bad thing is Im usually the one thats to stupid to get off the water in a thunder storm.

you make it sound almost pleasant Jon. A nice over cast morning with light winds and maybe a little misting now and again would be a fine morning of fishing.
