Press Release: MMWS Team Troy Patterson and Dave Washa WIN 2013 MMWS Championship on Pools 7, 8, & 9 with 17.54 pounds of Pool 8 river walleyes which netted them $1,000.00. The duo slipped wingdams on Pool 8 with willow cats and live bait rigs to seize the title. “It was tough bite but we ground out a few key wingdams and caught the ones we needed” commented Patterson. A well deserved win for the team after a long-hard season on the Upper Mississippi.
Team Peter Mart and Aaron Carlson trolled crankbaits on closing dams in the top of Pool 8 to take second with 16.95#’s of river gold capturing them $600 total for the weekend with yesterday’s Big Fish.
Team Phil Weigel and Adam Woodhouse took third with 16.36#’s and $300 and an additional $100 for BIG Walleye on Day two. Rigging live bait rigs and lots of hours on the bowmount were the key to scrounging up their limits.
Team Jeremy Zimmerman and Kyle Brawner rounded out the field with 15.29#’s and $200 also winning a 31 Northern Deep Cycle battery compliments of Northern Battery Supply our fine sponsor for the event. They elected to concentrate on their home water of Pool 7 to get their key bites.
