I would just like to say my partner and I had a great time this year at the tournament. Going in with no plan and catching over 30 fish was a blast. I would like to thank the Port of Call and all the sponsors for a great tournament. Thanks also to Marie and everyone involved for serving up a great spread.

I would like to thank the Port of Call for a great tournament. This was my second time fishing this tournamnet and I have had a blast both times. They put on a great event. It also didn’t hurt that I caught my biggest walleye ever (a 29 inch 8.45 pound walleye) right away yesterday morning and then proceeded to have my best walleye day ever. I have never fished in a tournament when both my partner and I were throwing back 4 pound walleyes. Again thank you to the Port of Call and all the door prize sponsors.

What were some of the winning techniques? We were out in Saturday and struggled to cath a limit! Just curious if I should be trying something new/different? Thanks for the help.

Unbelievable Food ! And a Great Tournament that was well run… Cannot wait til 2005…

50% of our fish for the tournament came pitching Purple 1/8 and 1/4 ounce hair jigs (Main Channel Bait Shop in Alma has these) into slack water or current breaks. We focused on inside bends off from the main channel in about 6′ of water. We would cast tight to shore and let the current work the jigs down stream. The pick ups were very light so you needed to pay close attention to the subtle line shifts. Using Yellow Colored Power Pro was the key for both 1) getting out of snags without retying and 2) monitoring line movements.
