**MTT Big Stone Cancelled**

Due to ice.

I was just about to go pick up my new boat. Hopefully I can return it.

Could have just made it an ice tourny.

Anyone know about the ice out there. I know the MTT got canceled but was wondering if the north end was open for fishing. I need to get out on the water and find walleyes!

There’s more ice than open water by quite a bit at this point. The lake came up about 18″ last weekend, which is the reason Donna stated that people needed waders to get on the sheet – those or a canoe/jon boat. It’s in the “in between” stage right now, unfortunately.

BTW, the lake typically opens from the south end first because the Whetstone has higher flow earlier and pushes into the lake instead of going downstream with the MN river as it does the other 11.5 months of the year.
