    Jon,

I see in the tournament rules that cell phone, CBs, or marine radios are not allowed except in emergencies. Can one use these devices to check on the status of the locks to see when they will be locking pleasure craft through? It seems to me that they should be allowed for that purpose.

That rule is in place so that entrants do not give or share fishing information. The “Spirit” of that rule will remain in place.

The next 2 events will open up waters located in other pools. Therefore, I agree that boaters should be allowed to communicate with the lock masters in order to know and plan a trip through the locks.

Thanks for the good question Boone, hope to see you at the June tourney.

The site only shows 8 teams registered for the June tourney, but it appears that was last updated in March. What’s the latest count on # of teams?

Also, what time do launches start and when is weigh-in?

    Thanks.

I just updated the team count.

We start at 7 AM and weigh at or before 3 PM.

We’ll see 40 or so boats for this event as well. Since we’re primarily catering to local anglers, we’ll see the majority register the day of the event.

    See ya’ there?

I will be out of town for this tourney, as I had already promised to fish another tournament on Mille Lacs last year.
    Good luck to all!

Any pre tournament meeting? I sent entry to address on the entry form – that still a good address? I wanted to make sure we’re in – Port o’ Call last week had 50+ boats sign up the night of the meeting – won’t be surprised with the bite as good as it is that you won’t see a few more boats for this one

If you have mailed an entry, I’m certain we will receive it before the tourney. James will be updating the list later today or tomorrow.

If you have not mailed your entry, you may enter the day of the tournament. I will also be at Evert’s Resort Friday from 5pm until approximately 8pm to take entries and assign boat numbers. (As of today, 6/8/04 please do not mail entries. Enter on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.)

There will be no formal rules meeting. Each team will receive a fact sheet and a copy of the rules at check-in Saturday. (I will also have them available at Evert’s Resort on Friday afternoon.)

Take off time will be 7am sharp. Weigh in will be at 3pm.

If you plan to enter Saturday morning, arrive early. I suggest printing out and completing the Entry Form prior to your arrival. I will available to check boats and take entries at 5:30am Saturday.

The boaters list has been updated.

If you’re not in, get in! If you don’t want to wait until Saturday AM to enter you can register for Saturday’s event by credit card AND lock in your boat number at the same time.

See ya’ all on Saturday and make sure you save time for an after weigh-in beverage compliments of IDA Walleye Tour!
