Rules, Participants and Eligibility
Contestants must enter as two-person teams. Any person 17 years of age or younger must be teamed with a parent or guardian. The entry fee for this tournament is $100.00 per team. The tournament will consist of a 19 boat max. The first 19 boats to register will be eligible to fish in the tournament. Teams will be allowed to weigh a maximum of 5 fish. Walleye, Sauger and/or Saugeye are eligible. All fish weighed must be kept and carried in aerated live wells to keep fish alive and as fresh as possible for release. Any fish mauled, mashed, frozen, injected with water or other fluids containing foreign matter to add weight, showing white gills, soft flesh or eyes, may result in disqualification at the discretion of the on-site tournament official. No dead fish may be released. A deduction of .20 will be taken for each non-releasable fish weighed. NO FISH UNDER 15” MAY BE BROUGHT TO THE SCALES. If a state or local law is violated by bringing a “short” fish to the scale, that team will be disqualified from the tournament. Entrants will conduct themselves in a true sportsman like and ethical manner when fishing. Remember, each team represents the Rock River Gold Tournament and your actions represent all contestants. All boats and live wells will be inspected just before your flight time. All contestants must start from and return to the launch site. Teams not checking in after the day’s fishing will be disqualified. In case of a tie, positions shall be determined by the weight of the team’s big fish. All state rules regarding fishing will be observed. Only those fish caught on hook and line in a normal and usual manner will be accepted. No more than 3 poles/lines per contestant. Entrants must possess a valid Wisconsin fishing license. Tournament boats shall fish in “open to public” waters only. THE ORDER OF TAKE-OFF WILL BE DETERMINED BY DATE OF PAID ENTRY! Teams who leave earlier than their assigned flight time will be disqualified. Teams who return later than their assigned flight time will be disqualified. NO fishing information may be given to contestants during tournament hours by tournament or non-tournament anglers. CB, marine radios or cell phones are allowed for lockage and emergency use ONLY. Any transmission of information via any communicative device concerning any aspect of fishing is prohibited during the tournament. All teams will be contacted 1 week prior to the tournament and given their flight times. The fishing boundaries for this tournament will be from the upriver side of the Indianford dam, to the downriver side of the Jefferson dam. Registration opens January 14, 2013.
Prizes
This tournament will have a 100% cash payout. 5% will be payout to the on-site tournament official. The payout amounts will be determined by how many teams enter the tournament. The tournament payout will be to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. 55% will be paid to 1st place, 30% to 2nd place and 15% to 3rd place. If 19 teams participate, the 1st place payout will be $1,010.80, the 2nd place payout will be $541.50 and the 3rd place payout will be $270.75. There will be an additional contest for the largest walleye caught. The largest walleye contest entry fee is $10.00 per fisherman and will payout 100% of the paid entry fees. The max possible payout for the largest walleye contest would be $380.00.
