Team Nate Cadwell (Rochester, MN) and Greg Brehmer (Eyota, MN) WIN MMWS Championship with a solid two day weight of 13.75#s! The duo slowly trolled live bait rigs in the area known by locals as “The Can Line” near the top of Lake Pepin to capture the win earning them $600 for first place. Nate commented, “We concentrated on pulling bait for the majority of our time, but did fish some cuts and about five other spots in the river and on Lake Pepin-it was a really tough bite and we just ground it out.” This determination found the team respective four-fish limits on both days of competition yeilding them the win and some nice hardware for the mantle as well. Team Dave Lester and Joe Williams trolled up a solid weight of 9.56#s for second place & a payday of $270 w/ Big Walleye honors as well for day two. Team Bryson / Bremmer rigged wing dams by Wabasha for a nice 5.58# eye on day one earning them $60. Thanks to all teams who competed in 2012! We hope to gain many new teams next year and encourage anyone interested to fish our events.
