    Sounds like their jackplate decided to grenade at 50+ mph.

    and i thought the weather was the biggest downer of the day. my partner and i were back at the cabin by 11 a.m. that day.

    i thought it was worse than the year we fished the “snow storm”. as anyone can see from the weigh in results, nothing shuts down the fisherman like a bigstone coldfront.

    Do you think this is a rigging issue, a bad motor mounting bracket, or a bad transom design?

    This is the 2nd Yamaha I’ve heard of falling off the back of a boat.

    Probably just too much power for that jackplate.

    I am interested to hear the full story.

    The brackets on the boat look a little funny? It also doesnt look like much of a jackplate or one that I recognize.
