WWA WI/UP TEAM CHALLENGE TO OPEN SEASON AT WINNECONNE
Fond Du Lac- Winneconne Wisconsin, one of the legendary early season walleye
destinations of Wisconsin anglers will be the location for the opening
tournament in the World Walleye Association WI/UP Team Challenge division
Sunday April 25th 2004.
³ The first tournament of the year in the WI/UP Team Challenge is always one
of the most fun.² States WWA Executive Director Steve Poll, ² Every year we
hold it in the upper lakes of the Winnebago Chain, so many of the teams that
will be there have fished it before. That makes for a lot of backslapping
and reminiscing about previous years.²
Steve Poll will also be the Tournament Director for the WI/UP Team Challenge
Division.
The registration and rules meeting will be Saturday April 24th at the
Village Pub in Winneconne. Registration will be from 5:00P.M. – 7:00P.M.
The field is limited to 100 boats and all participants must be members of
the World Walleye Association.
Minimum size limit for this tournament is 14 inches.
The official weigh in site will be the Wolf River House Resort on Sunday.
Tournament hours are from 7:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M.
The WWA is a friendly, fun, and affordable way to participate in the
competitive world of walleye fishing. Extensive media coverage of tournament
results can be found on numerous websites along with coverage in the Badger
Sportsman Magazine, the official publication of the WWA. Subscriptions to
the Badger Sportsmen are included when anglers become members of the WWA.
The WWA also offers a National Championship at the end of the year for
qualifying teams.
These are just some of the reasons anglers choose to fish the WWA, ³A
Tournament Circuit For Fisherman, Run By Fisherman².
