Fished a few of the MTT tourneys in the past, but the dates don’t work for me this year. Anyone have experience fishing the full throttle tournaments?
Just wondering if you had any in sight as to how well they are ran. etc.

I have fished them the last two years. Great group of anglers that fish it. It is a professional ran tournament

I’ve fished the Full Throttle for the last few years as well and Mark runs a well organized event. The events typically draw some good competition and have some nice extra incentives such as being an Cabela’s NTC Qualifier.

You can’t beat the free meal at the rules meeting either!

IMHO. FT does not even come close to MTT when compared to turn out and pay out.
I also didnt care for them plastering their flyers all over windshields of cars and trucks last opener on ML.

I enjoyed fishing the Full Throttle derbies, well run, fun and I will be back this year. I have never fished the MTT so I couldn’t compare them.

I think Full Throttle is the biggest joke in tournament fishing. Worst run group around. Tried it once. Cancelled the tournament with no information release. Wasted vacation time and income with nothing more than “I’m sorry, I thought I let everyone know.”

I’ve fished FT for a few years now, along with about 20+ other tournaments each season (MWC, MTT, etc.) and I believe all three circuits are great. All are ran well with great people at the helms and also a good group of competitors. There are pros and cons to all tournaments, but I’d suggest trying to get out there and enter as many as you can and help us all promote the sport. Regarding FT specifically, it is unique in that you will see some of the top walleye pros all the way to weekend warriors and family teams as well. Check them out, would be great to have more anglers in the mix.

My wife and I are looking at fishing the Mille Lacs Events. Looks to be a good place to start.

That’s great! Yes, Full Throttle is a great place to start tournament fishing. Great to see you teaming up with you wife too. Love family teams. I fish with my father. Be sure to find me at the rules meeting and say hello.

Good deal! I am looking forward to it! I have found that the best way to get started with something is to simply start.
