Ever wonder what it takes to prepare for a flood at a resort?

Lifting all the campers on the North end of Everts is not a big deal. Lift them up, pull out the supporting timbers, blocks and jacks, disconnect the power and other wires. Move the septic lines out of the way..and pull it up the hill. Hopefully nothing tips over in the camper while en route.

Now the Hill People as we affectionately call them…the people that look down on us low landers. Not only did they have to contend with all the above…well, the photo’s speak for themselves.

Everything went well as Riley was in charge of Supervision and safety. (unfortunately that photo wasn’t sent to me)

Wow that looks like quite the process. Did ya ever consider putting pontoons under it with a long anchor chain? JK There’s more to preparing for a flood when you’re close to the water than I think most of us are aware of. Good luck and hope the flood impact is minimal for all at river level.

Wow. Thanks for the pictures. I have always wondered how you got the campers in place. Now we all know. And it looks like a bit of work and crossed fingers.

I was looking at the last photo with the electric motor…

If we had one of those in the bait shop, a person might be able to walk in there without being waste deep in BS!

That’s the one! Next time you have that rental crane there, take a look at the driver side door jam. Let me know who tested it and when..please.

I was one of the guys in the chairs. We took our lunch break from fishing and decided to watch the action. They pulled three trailers and it didn’t take more than a couple hours. It took them a while with the first one to get the program figured out. I think it took about 15 minutes for them to get river rat Randy’s trailer out and that was the toughest one.

The funny part was that as they are trying to move the campers, they had to contend with a bunch of people pulling in on top of them to launch their boats rather than use the upper launch.

And lastly, nobody holds a rope like Dustin. Just like big walleyes, he’s got rope holding down to a science.
