Launched out of Everts the past three days with no problems. Get there early to park down the hill or catch a shuttle. Lots of saugers with an occasional eye mixed in. Best bite before noon, 12′ to 24′ with most fish caught in the 16-20′ range.

Word is Everts will shut down in a day or two so plan ahead. There will be trouble at the launch real quick.

    Everts Update 4/9/2011:

    Update April 9 2011:

The latest “guess” is the bait shop will be closing Monday afternoon. There will be an update here and in the General Forum forum as well.

You’ll need water proof boots (water proof shoes at the very least) to get to the bait shop today.

The launch will remain open until it’s deemed unsafe to use and that again is day by day.

(side note the sauger bite is on! )

There was just enough room to walk to the bait shop last night without getting your feet wet but I believe what BK says and I would bring some water proof shoes if the bait shop is even open , I would call ahead of time before heading down.

    I believe Baypoint is closed

quoted from a post made on 3/30 :

    Quote:

    Coville & Baypoint – Closed

    Wi Back Channel- Closed

    Baycity- parking lot under water

Everts- Useable for those who have above average river experience. I would not recommend in-experienced or solo anglers to be on the river.Parking is minimal, but will assist as much as possible.

This is the one ONLY time I can think of to call Everts to see if the ramps (and bait shop) is open.

Been hectic here getting the shop prepped and water ready. We do have a handfull of boats out today. As of Tues, April 12, Everts Resort shop & ramps will be closed to the general public. With the one remaining ramp completely under water, I just cannot be comfortable with it being used. This is a difficult decision at best, but is being made in the interest of safety first.

Many thanks to all who have helped us keep things going and helping to move everything to high ground!

Dean, as far as you know there isn’t any launch ramps open on Pool 4. Is that a correct statement?

Thanks for the update Dean. Hang in there – I know it’s been a rough go for you this spring but I hope the better days are just around the corner.

Please post what help you need once the water starts to go back down.

Wow I guess anything really IS possible. Maybe I’ll need to un-take PTO on Thursday.

Hope you are doing OK my friend.

each of the past 3 days the forecasted crest has dropped a foot a day. Looks like you might already be at the crest. Dean will be back to bait shop duties in no time.

If today’s forecast doesn’t change, it still looks like Sun/Mon before the one ramp opens.

Big bummer. I’m looking for a way to fish the river this Thursday… was there any news about the normally shallow Maiden Rock launch?
