If you had to choose one technique

There are multiple techniques people use for the mighty miss and the best option changes throughout the year. But if you were forced to use one specific technique for the WHOLE year on the miss, what would it be?

Pitchin, you never said it had to be a certain bait Plastics, cranks, hair, meat, blades, it is by far the most versitile

    Dynamite.

Without question it’s the most consistent regardless of season.

Sorry, but I was having a little trouble with the concept of only one technique for all seasons.

Give me a jig with a rod and reel that has mono line on it and I can catch fish any time of year. Of course the jig weight will change throughout the year with the technique used. Vertical jigging plastics or live bait——dragging plastics in the cooler water temps and then live bait in the Summer. Day in and day out a jig will put fish in the boat

Jig and plastic. You can pitch it, troll it, drag it, verticle jig it. Very versitile and deadly.

Well, being a little more specific, if fishing for the 1 and only walleye, I’d porbabaly stick with pitching too.
Now if it were for those “Flats” & other river Scoundrels, I’d think about pitchin’ too, but the “X” might be on the other end of line. One Scoundrel deserves another

If I only had one technique I could use all year on the river, it would be handlining. It’s a blast and always produces fish no matter what time of year.

Pitching jigs would have to be my choice.

I would go with a jig and plastic.

A net would also work darn well.

I would have to agree with jig/plastic…….but pitching with different size blades, would be a close 2nd…

X 2 Hands down a jig will always put fish in the boat and can be fished many different ways with many different presentations

I love pitching to structure and current breaks…That strike is second to none !!!

But on the other hand…. I am a crank bait junky !!! I love to tune and dial these in and catch walleyes !! It’s not the strike that is exciting, it’s the accomplishment of putting the right crank in the right place and the right time and consistently putting fish in the boat !!!

Pitchin jigs and plastic. One of the more difficult methods to master (so many variables to work with), but the most satisfying.
