First of all I’d like to thank everyone that came to Everts on Saturday, things were BUSY and a lot of people came thru but I think it went smooth (well for the time I was there anyways) for how busy we were. On busy days what really works best for all of you is to get your boats in the water and then head in to see Dean, that really helps to keep traffic from getting backed up the hill. Again thank you all
Now for the fishin
I was joined by Mikev. for the day, it was on the agenda for the to go fish for big fish as a guy can catch eaters on pool 4 anytime of the year so with that in mind we were fishin. First spot nothin, second spot nothin and the 3rd spot was game on as soon as the sun peeked out. Unfortunately we did not get any tankers for the day but we were in the right spot. We had 1 fish that was just under 15″, we had one 18-19″ TANKER sauger, 3 eye’s over 18″, our best of the day 1 4lb eye (pictured), some sheepie’s, some carp, a HUGE clam and 2 Pike which cut our day in half. I was holding the pike behind his head and was reaching for my blade bait when he decided to thrash and thrash he did, he thrashed that blade right thru my thumb (hook is pictured, I cut it at the curve but the sharp or pointy end is to the right) which getting that out is a whole another story in itself . So when I was gone to get the hook removed DocFrigo and his fishing guest headed to the spot we were fishing and popped a 6 and a 7 lb fish. We got back on the water and the bite had died. Couldnt get another fish to go for nothing and after picking up Millerman we decided to get off the water before dark. We pitched blades our whole time on the water. Red and black were best for the day. Hopefully we’ll get another shot at ’em next weekend. Look for a big fish report from Eric to come tonight or tomorrow he and Jason B. got on ’em
