How clear was the water yesterday??? By no means am I an expert down there, but if the water is already dirty from runoff your choice yesterday was not a bad one… If its still fairly clear then the pro blue might not be a bad choice. Best to put in at Everts and consult with the boys as to colors to be throwing.

    Good reply Mark.
As the runoff muddies the river you need to go to brighter colors…chart/pepper, chart/orange core, chart/green core, Goldcracker/Chart tail during the day…

Clear water colors are the natural shad colors, and Cotton Candy, Pro Blue, Oystershell, Purple Cracker…etc

All round favorites are Purple/Chart tail, Purple, Firecracker, Fire N Ice, Purplesilver/pearl tail

Stop at Everts and talk to one of the local fellows. They will know what is really going on.

How much water were you covering? Might have not been the ringworm color(hard to go wrong with that color—-it’s GREAT!!!!!!!and proven with time.), more than likely the daytime bite just required something else. Like the wise old Dean has said many times “if you ate a 2 helping turkey dinner, a drumstick is not going to look too good, but a small nibble of something sweet might just temp you”–in other words, the fish, with clearer water and full moon, might be feeding heavy at night-thus, a splitshot, hook and minnow might be the best daytime rig ever created. Add to that the recent influx of melt water and the bite drops. It’s a good time to pull 3 way rigs-the small amount of active fish will be on the seams and covering ground gets your bait in front of more active fish. In other words, you were not throwing the wrong ringie color, just might have been not in the right place at the right time.
