After stopping in for some emergency service (buddy didn’t have a current fishing liscence) from Dean at Evert’s, and a couple of cool, foggy hours before the fish started biting, we finally got into some nice fish.

Sorry for the grainy phone pic (the cooler that my camera was in got “lost” in the Passenger Side “Under the Counsel” Cavern in the wx1850. Thought I’d forgot it in the truck, but nope, I threw it in, and couldn’t see it way under there. One time too much storage room was a bad thing.

Anyways, black and green hair and meat = fish for us today. Pitched a bit, tried plastics alot, and wound up settling on buck & meat.

3 walleyes over 20 (20.5, 23, and 27) and a 19″ sauger. I know, where’s the pix. Only the 27″ turned out anything near viewable. The 23,27 and the 19″ sauger came in one spot all in about an hour. 3 nice box fish as well. 2 others came unbuttoned before being ID’d, but they were not small either. No dinks for us today, although saw a fair number of small fish being caught. That’s usually me.

Thanks again Dean! for the gracious help right away and the suggestions that helped up come up with a decent pattern (for a while).

I know this may sound simplistic…use your electric motor to keep bringing your boat back to the vertical fishing line… I.E. when the line starts to angle downstream, motor toward the line until it is vertical again…follow the line, is what I call it.

    NEWS REPORT…..NEWS REPORT!

This just out from the “Corps”…the river will be closed to all fishing this Saturday from 6am to 8pm as the “Corps” wants to check the river for flooding just North of Everts Resort. Just wanted to let you all know so you don’t get down there and then get sent home. I know how these big fish pics get guys chomping at the bit to get down there after a LONG winter, but please give the “Corps” the courtesy and a lot of elbow room as they fish, um, I mean check the river this Saturday.

Just a kind public service announcement from me to you…don’t ask where I got this info either.

Is this for real or a ploy to keep people off the river? I was planning a trip on 3-19-2011.

No worries Dan. I have some pull with the Corp and even if it’s closed…I’ll get you on the river.

    OU812 is kidding around.
