A buddy and me hit pool 2 yesterday in hopes of cureing the open water itch a little. We managed 23 fish and 5 different species, walleye, smallmouth, smallmouth buffalo, white sucker, and pike. It only made my open water itch worse, but was a great first softwater outing of 2011!

    Tight Lines everyone!!

Where did you launch from? I’ve got wed-fri off work and I plan on spending every second on the river

We launch at the 494 landing, the lilydale landing is also good to go.

I don’t suppose you guys tried dropping any cut/stink/worm balls? Just curious if you targeted channel cats at all…

Didn’t try for channels at all this outing but plan on targeting them later this week and weekend.

    Tight lines!!

One of those vehicles is one of my other buddies, he supposedly got like 7 pig eyes but I have yet to see pictures so he probably got skunked (LOL).

    Tight lines!!

We did all right on small fish yesterday. Most came on Pro blue moxies jigging in the channel. Still waiting for the bigger fish to show up.

I was out today for a few hours along with a bunch of others. Slow bite for me and others it appeared. I only boated a few fish with none over 16 inches and all walleyes, no sauger. The water is getting some color to it now and the flows seem to be increasing. Parking was a big problem at Lilydale. The lot is not all plowed out and people were parking vehicles without trailers in the trailer spots. I parked along one of islands in the parking lot near the main drive. Luckily, they weren’t handing out tickets for poor parking. I tried plastics some, but the old hair jig/minnow caught all my fish.
