Busted out of work at noon on friday and headed down to Evert’s.
Quick stop in the bait shop to grab some Moxies and we were ready to unload.
Even with the south wind howling, just couldn’t resist heading down river. That is the first time I have ever experienced 2′ rollers going against the current, sure was a fun ride.
Made it to our spot around 2:30 and had 36.9 degree water temps, anchored up in 8-9′ and casted Bladebaits, Jigs/plastics and hair jigs into the shallows. Finally, at 4:45 I connected with a fat 22.5″ er that fell victum to a Purple 1/4 BladeBait. This girl was full of eggs. Quick pic and she was released to fight another day. 15 min. later, my buddy Ray picked up this fat 22″er. This girl crushed a gold/chart spoon. Had 2 others that came unbuttoned by the boat. That’s when i figured we were on em, and just like that, our fun was over for the night.
Not sure if the fish moved out or if the window was that small, but that’s why they call it fishing.
