Spent a few hours looking for some big girls tonight, well it payed off. My buddy landed his new P.B. a 9.6 lbs toad. The bite over all was slow only 3 fish making it into the boat . Something about those big March sows make you forget about the slow times. His big catch came on a chartreuse white core ringworm. Here is a nice pic of his fish.

Got out today in the cold and wind only me and one other walleye guy out there we did ok 4 19 inchers and a 6 pounder missed a couple tough bite worked hard for the fish also snagged huge carp. The spoonbill snaggers were popping the [censored] out of them i think almost everyone out there got there limit but two boats there were lots of the snaggers out today.

We got out for a few hours this morning and did not have a bite. We didn’t stay to long off the water by 11:00 , we never saw a fish caught. I don’t know if the front had them turned off are what. I marked fish in a few good areas , but no takers. I will have to give it a try after work this week. Congrat’s on your fish.

Thats great I’m glad someone other then the guy I saw did good!! I’ll tell you this story. When we got to everts I went in to pay for bait and launch, Some nice guy told my buddy that he was following us. When he had said it was his first time and I’d only been there a couple of times he laughed. I didn’t know any of this happened until we were driving home. We got out there picked our spot and started to fish. We were jigging up by the dam. Ha Ha I guess the joke is on us because we were doing the samething as the guy next to us and nothing! He did great with his daughter or wife or girl friend, I would guess one of the first 2 because he had a ring on. The only thing we had that was different was Boat control LOL He was alot better then me. I would love any pointers.
    Thanks, Jason

    “I would love any pointers.”

The best advice I can give you for learning boat control is lots and lots of practice, when using the bowmount. Of course the very best method of boat control is a good anchor, but that is usually not a good idea when fishing near the dam with a lot of other boats. Pay close attention to the current seams and boils, will help some in holding the boat where you want once you learn to “read” the water.
