Two weeks until the yearly Madison invasion. Whiskerkev has some questions for you.

How high will the water be?
    Will the fish be biting?
What will they be biting on?
    Will the ramps be open?

Yeah, I’m bored. In Chicago for two weeks for training. Will be a long two weeks waiting to get back in the boat.

Oh, one more question. Will the fish be biting?

I can answer some of those…

    1. Same to slightly higher than today.
I did put in today. I put in yesterday too….BRRRRR!!!
    2. Fish are always biting someplace.
    3. Likely jigs. The question is whether meat is needed or not. Jigs/Hair or Jigs/Plastic will work.
    4. If we are talking Everts…YES!!!

Not only that, but your friendly staff at Everts will have the most current details on colors and presentations that will give you the best chance at success.

Ah, Martin, I wasn’t really looking for answers. But thanks for trying. I just know that Dean gets asked those questions about 1000 times every spring.

My big fish money is on Boog if he makes it up. If he doesn’t, I predict big fish will come from my boat. May not be me that catches it, but it will be in my boat.

So it begins. I do look forward to the challenge of whooping not one but two licensed guides again… I really don’t care what the conditions are. It has been a long couple of weeks here in Madison and I look forward to seeing some folks I don’t get to see often.

PS let the record show that I did not cast the first stone.

You get a new start each year. sheez. I hope we all get possession limits and release a 10 plus! You still have the biggest fish ever from our crew at 31 inches.

What Dean doesn’t know, doesn’t hurt him.

Yup, and any baked goods left next to the coffee pot are fair game-any deer sticks left in frige are fair game as well, add to that, any doughnuts left by the computer.
We’re just helping him lower his glycemic index.

I like how this post implies that I have questions. I do bring a few treats when I come but I’ve never once asked where to fish or what with. Half the fun of fishing the river is figuring out what is biting and where. My goal for this year is to knock John off for biggest fish ever. I am still not sure his fish should count.
