Pulled the boat up to Everts for its maiden voyage Wed and despite the strong winds had a decent afternoon. After struggling for the 1st hour or two the bite picked up around 3:00 and lasted after dark. The two rollers which had been down a week ago had been raised a bit moving the fish but not too far. Managed good numbers of saugers early but only one of six or so was fry pan worthy. As it got later I moved downstream and pitched plastics into 7-12 ft shoreline areas of slacker water and that hour or so made the whole trip. First I love pitching, second I had less than a half dozen casts that were not met with a “thunk” from a walleye at some point between the shoreline and the boat. The only downside was the fish were all 13 to 15.001 inches long! They were still a blast to catch and were great therapy after a long winter. I’ll be back!
