I just got done with some chiseling and I am warming up the plow to push last nights ice build up away and open the ramp for the day down here at Everts. The current temp is -8 but a nice light wind from the South has the light fog blowing upstream which will make for a great day on the open water of Pool 4 with temps predicted to hit 30.

Stop on down and say hi to Dean to get the latest and greatest for the river and enjoy the warm weekend ahead of us.

Anyone planning on coming to Everts today?

I’m hitting the night bite! The warm temps later today are way too attractive.

There’s three of us making our first trip today. Should be there shortly after 9 a.m. Look for the black boat with the big walleye on the side.

My body will be at the Petenwell dam this weekend, but my heart at Everts….it’s a win-win. Good luck to all on this mid-winter open water treat.

Wish I wasn’t five hours away… I’d never store the boat! Any reports will be great, at least I can read of others experiences, good or bad.

So that was you that was near the side of the road waving? Cause I was probably the only guy that drove through Afton with a boat hooked up on that COLD day

At minus 10, you might have been the only person in the state.

ya that was me, i had just finnished pulling the perm off the river due to the high temps here early and a bad itch to head down to everts and then here comes this truck strolling through town with a boat…..wow talk about really cranking up the itch. so the boat had about 3 inches of ice in it and is at the shop thawing out looks like nothings going to happen till next weekend, any word about that dragging bite

I gave dragging a shot today for the first time. There was nothing going for me. Fished six hours without a bite. That’s not to say the fish were not biting. The river is new to me and I am guessing it is going to take a while to figure things out. Tomorrow is another day…

Keep your eye out for icebergs.
