The walleye bite is still slow sown on pool 5, but the MUSKIE action was hot. I caught my very first muskie ever. Who would of thought. I guess if people can catch brown trout there might as well be muskies on pool 5 also. The muskie went 28”. I guess that is little but not bad for first. I was only able to boat three saugers today and they came out of 28′ of water in the main channel. I fished the tailwater also but was not able to even get a hit. I also went shallow again throwing plastics and hair jigs along rip rap and wing dams, nothing. There was only three boats out and we were all puzzled. The other two boats that were out there never landed a fish. I also fished an hour into dark, in the shallows, at my favortie night spot with no good results. I talked with a commercial fisherman that was down there also, and in places where they sane every year and produce walleye yielded nothing this year. Times are tough right now but only can get better from now. Water temp at the Dam was 36 degrees and down river below discharge had a temp of 40 degrees.
