Made it out for a couple of hours with my not so little girl. She turned 7 a few days back and we have a 4 yr tradition of getting on the river together. She doesn’t do too much fishing but it’s fun to get out and be in the boat with her.
As for the fishing, it was pretty slow for most of the afternoon. Got a couple of 18inchers deep on wingdams but not much going on. At sundown I set up on a favorite dam and waited them out. Switched to a Lizard looking thing that Dean set me up with a while back in a cotton candy color and it was bang, bang, bang, three fish in a row.
The last being the fish pictured which was a fat and healthy 26.5.
Then a barge blew through and it was all over.

I was thinking of getting out there all day yesterday and didn’t do it. Might go down and hit pool 4 today or tomorrow. I’ve got fish eating relatives in town.
