Fishing on 5a was awsome today. I was down in the a.m. and caught about 20 fish. most were sauger but a few nice eyes, biggest being 22, had to move around alot. 3 or 4 fish in each spot. Froze my off early, once my hands got wet on the first release it was numb fingers from there on out. Good luck to anyone who wanders down to the river this week.

Good to see some of the other pools on the river getting deserved attention. Thanks for the report~!

Thanks for the report Louis, I wondered if that was you on the bank, sorry I did not swing over to say hi – next time . I was the guy in the flat below your area around 2pm – not the one with the dog.

I was out in the afternoon also pitching plastics. Caught a few smaller saugers and and a few decent walleye – largest eyes went 18″ and 23″. Most fish were caught on paddle tails and a few on a white ring worm.

Nice job Louis, bet it was a lot more relaxing without the snakes. That’s one post I’ll never forget.

Louis, good luck if you get out, I’ll be taking my son over for the WI gun season so I probably won’t be out there – maybe Sunday if he fills quickly
