My father-inlaw and I were out to Alma today and Slayed them. We were fishing between the dam and the lock in the back flow water. And anchoring right in line with the dam diamond sign, We noticed that we were out fishing the boat down river of us 5-1, the closer we got to the dam the more we caught. We lauched at 7 AM and back the landing by noon with are limit. We caught 28 saugers, and walleye, it was about 50/50. The keepers were all 15 to 18 inches no monsters today. We did the same thing on Sunday morning too. The weapon of choice was a Dubuque Rig. Using a flotting jig tipped with big ol fat minnow, three-wayed, with a 3/8 GOLD jig head with a Firecracker ringworm. What i love about this combo is that when they were finicky theyed bite the minnow and when they were feeding the ringworm got them. Hit m High and Hit m Low.

It was a great few days on the water. I hope to get a few more warm days to do it all over again. And thanks John for keeping me company on the ol river.

I didn’t get any pictures today or sunday no trophies to write home about, but if your looking for some good action and a nice dinner. Head on over to Alma,

I thought everyone had forgotten about that rig?
Good for you & good to hear some of the southern pools are back in the game again!
