It was slow for me over the weekend but this cooler air should help the bite. There are definitely fish being caught but you work for what you get. It seemed the guys pulling cranks were doing OK at times. I know some people had good luck but I also know several who struggled—me being one of them

Had a trip to P-4 on Saturday. We pitched plastics & cranks to very shallow current seams to land the bigger eyes. Had the best #’s down in the lake on the channel edge draggin minnows in 12-18fow.

I got mixed reports from people fishing pool 4 over the weekend, as Rich said some guys struggled to even get a fish while others reported good fishing. It seemed tracking the fish from the high water haunts to there low water homes was the key, getting them in the transition from one spot to the other was working but finding those areas required some work. 7-10 FOW seemed to be the popular depth. Good Luck out there

    Jesse,

Did you ever make it out Sunday? Truck problems kept me home with a much lighter wallet!

    Thanks,

Friday started out with a 4lb 7oz sauger and 3 more keepers, and a few throw backs in about 3 hours pulling lead core in 8-10′.

I would rate the bite at average or slightly above for this time of year. We have not seen the peak by any means. As water temps drop, the bite will rise and the more traditional methods will come into play.

See ya in the morning, Dean, although we’ll probably be out on the water before you wake up….driving tonight. Couple kringles coming your way. Safe to leave them on the doorstep?
