Sunday, Mike W and I picked up where we left off Saturday. Fishing out of my boat this round. Same presentation – casting cranks to wingdams. Mike is working on a report with pics. I have some video of 2 good fish from Sunday.

My fish was a second 27 incher of the day (looked like twins.) and Mike’s fish went a super fat 28 1/4. No weight, but in that 10-11 pound class no doubt.

The pup is the cheering section on this trip. Had to keep him tied up. He went overboard a couple hours earlier in the day. Damn does he ever get excited over a bent rod!

There was a point in the day Sunday we just had to lay our rods down and take a break. Arms getting sore from all the fish we were pulling in. All nice fish with many in that 23-25 inch range.

Thanks again Mike for a great weekend!

Impressive – love the shirt sleeves in October!!!

Rather enjoyed your pup going nuts on the video – hard to keep it a secret when you have a fish on! One of my labs (Chesney) is the exact same way!

    Thanks for sharing!

7′ St Croix Triump Tom. Forget what the action is but Im sure is most likely medium light. Pflueger President reel. Mot a bad crank bait casting set up for the price. It loads up nice and can really get those cranks out there if you need it. I have been using it for some of my short trolling runs up here to. Its nice to be able to quickly flip a lure out or cast it off to the side on some of these short runs.

Thanks Dustin. About the only thing that would of made the weekend better was getting these fish to go on jigs. Worked a lot of hair threw some of these spots and could not get even a bump. A few casts with a crank and it was fish on. Tried blades and plastics to with no luck.

Was a fun day for sure. Just getting some more video loaded up. My laptop is not the greatest at editng video. These files are huge!! These are recorded in HD1080P. They can be viewed in HD720p on youtube. They look pretty good at full screen. Anyway. One more from Sunday. The cheerleader likes front row!

That video of Brut taking a swim is fantastic Jon. He came back to the boat pretty fast in the video. It seemed a lot longer in the boat. I went up front and quickly looked at the boat cushion to throw to him. Then started thinking I was either going to have to toss the anchor rope so we could start drifting or else someone was going in after him.

That is some classic video. Never a dull day fishing with Brut.

That little video camera is amazing Jon. There are some nice tips in that second video where the walleye came to the surface a ways behind the boat. “Nothing good can happen way out there.” If you let that walleye dance on the surface out there I believe they struggle more due to not being used to being on the surface. There is always the chance of slapping there heads on the surface and knocking the crank bait loose to. You can always try to net them out there if you have an long enough net but here again I think you have a much better chance when they are right next to the boat.

The first thing I did when that walleye came up was dropped the rod tip back down. This helps with sending the fish back down in the water. Next I moved myself about half way up the side of the boat. This allowed Jon to get to the back of the boat and closer to the fish. The next time the fish came up it was right next to Jon in the back of the boat and was very easy to net.
