What a day to be on the water! Gary and I got out at sunrise and found a couple of Walleyes on shoreline current seams with crankbaits. Nothing “Pool 2 big” but decent fish. The first one managed to turn the bait and hook himself in the side, convincing me he was a much bigger fish than he really was. Later on Gary stuck a 28 inch long Flathead that kept us busy for quite a while. Water temps are down to 62 degreees, flow is up and the water was pretty muddy.

Nice to run into Fish Any Time (Francis) and his son Tyler out there.

Sounds like you and Gary had a good time. I meant to get out this weekend. To stinkin’ busy. This steady employment has some drawbacks to it.

Was out this week end also a lot of small eyes flipping jigs and cranks. Only decent fish I caught was a 30 inch pike.

Did some experimenting with some chartreuse gulp minnows the eyes did not seem to bit on it any better then the shiner ones but the sheephead seemed to like them a lot more

I fished pool 2 on saturday and was able to put a good trolling run together in a few different spots. In about 4 hours of fishing we managed 11 walleyes and 3 white bass, nothing huge for walleyes biggest was about 22″. My dad was finally able to catch a elusive P2 walleye after many trips. Current is strong and dirty.

Francis and I got into a few on Friday afternoon. The trolling bite was pretty good. Red flicker shads where the ticket. Pumping the rods and making sure the cranks where ticking bottom every once and a while got the walleyes to react. Spent most of our time trolling rocks with current on them. Must of ended up with 20 or more walleyes.

Conditions on Friday where fantastic. The flow was up a little and temps I think where low 60’s. Perfect for some fall walleye fishing.

Here are a couple of photos from Friday.

You haven’t taken that red frenzy off your trolling rod since you broke 30″ back in spring!

I don’t blame you…the red flicker got us a mess o’ fish last night on leech and probably will tonight too.

On Leech? You must of taken the wrong turn on the way to the landing. Red was good on Mille lacs this weekend to. Sunday I switched over to jointed grappler shads in perch colors after seeing all the small perch the mille lacs walleyes where full of. They did good to.

No there’s nothing wrong with his hat. I too use AHAMAY motors exclusively.
