Pool 5- Alma WI- fishing report

    The ramp for access to pool 5 is finally open. However you will still have to use the one in Buffalo City and run up. They are working on busting up the ice at the Alma landing today to get it ready for the year.

    There has been about 10 boats out on the average every day now. The report is they have been getting fish. Most days people are saying they catch about 12-20 fish a day. Most people have been vertical jigging the deeper holes. The way the FisherFlick jigs have been moving off the shelves leads me to believe most people are using them, tipped with a minnow. Biggest fish reported caught yesterday was a 24″ walleye caught on the upper edge of deep hole.

    I will be out this week on pool 5 so I will try and get some more info by the end of the week. Otherwise call the MAIN CHANNEL BAIT STORE on there 800#. 1866-219-2191.

    Yes it is. The old bait store use to be located on the south end of town. That one is not there anymore.

    The bait store now is located right across the road from were the city dock on the river is. If you need bait on the water all you have to do is cross the road and go up one block to the north.

    Any idea on how long before the ramp in Alma is ready to go??? I did land a season turkey tag and will be down in the area that April 13-16. Booked any of those days right now?

    We are banging away at it today to get it open. There is about a 3′ shelf on it right now. Should be open by the weekend. I will let you know asap.

    Just talked to the city of alma…There using the backhoe to open the alma landing this afternoon…After tonight alma will be wide open..

    Located right in the middle of town….right across from the old kwik trip…..on the downstream side of the dam….Real easy to find..
