    Hi Guys,
I am doing alot of searching for walleyes right now and can’t seem to find them

I am checking out wingdams, rip rap shores, rock piles, current seams with no luck with eyes, I’m catching many big sheephead and a few smaller bass.

I have been trying hairjigs,paddletails,ringworms,blades,3ways w/cranks and casting deep divers.

    I need HELP

Not looking for spots, just looking to find what kind of structure, depths and tackle you guys are using now and I can search from there.

    Thanks

Have you tried Draggin jigs OR back to the basics with a jig and minnow ? Just a couple ideas

    What depths you targeting ?

I am seaching anything from 1-15 ft, I haven’t tried dragging I will have to pull out the dragging DVD and my plastics video again (plus buy a VCR)

I have been thinking going back to basics with a jig and meat, but I would like to stick with artifical(sp).

With the water up, I’d target backwater cuts with flow-either pulling cranks or dragging jigs. If you get the right senario, those fish might be in 2-4FOW. High water and summer patterns are still ruling the day.

Not sure of what you guys have for flow down that way. Up here working the tips of the wingdams found us fish on monday. Heavier jigs to get down to the base in front of the tip. 1/4 draggin jigs with crawlers worked well for this. Hair jigs worked well to. I didnt even spend mush time looking on top of the dams.

I would think trolling rip rap would be a good bet to.

The water has dropped in the last couple weeks to 5.9 and normal is about 5.5
Water temp is dropping down to the mid 60’s so we should be getting back to regular conditions now.

They should start moving more to the main channel now shouldn’t they

My fish last weekend were fairly shallow in 2 to 8 ft of water. Low current wingdams and closing dams were good producers. I also caught fish off shallow gravel bars with gentle current on them. You also might try large eddies behind wingdams or points they also produced fish. Don’t forget your Bombers and one-eyes.

Did well Sunday and yesterday on Pool 4 pulling crankbaits. Found one spot absolutely stacked and threw out the bait for a while – seemed like an endless supply-no real size – most in 17 or so range. Both trips came up empty on big ones – a few 20 inchers was best I could do. I did find these last two trips that they seem to like a little less speed – right in the 1.8-2.3 GPS with variation once again being the key. Sunday was cloudy and did the best with darker colors (baby bass and red crawdad being the best) while Wedenesday saw the bright colors catching the majority. Best fishing for me Wednesday was down near the head of the lake. Fish this week seemed to be all over the place depth wise with fish caught from 3-12 FOW. I did target several shallow spots where there were a lot of shad jumping and managed to have great fun with numerous bass. Also interesting to see were several spectacular sturgeon leaps (primarily up by the dam.) Maybe not worth mentioning, I haven’t caught a measureable sauger in 3 weeks. Several of the spots I regularily hit normally have good numbers of eaters.
Note to briank – had a wonderful time with two more good sized catfish yesterday – both once again absolutely inhaling parrots.
