Hit the river today after 3 weeks away. Started with a visit to Dean to check out what’s new in the shop and get up to speed on the river bite. With a good report on the river we dumped in at the resort and headed down river.

We split the day between dragging and trolling. Starting off the fish were absolutely crushing cranks trolled in shallow water and while you needed to sort through a few shorts the eaters were there. The dragging bite picked up as the day went on and by the end of the day it was pretty much even between the jig/crawler combo and the cranks. Big fish honors of the day went to the jig/crawler with a nice walleye that taped 25 ¼”.

Not the fall boom yet, but very little fishing traffic to deal with and plenty of good fish to be had. See you guys out there!

Very few boats out there on Saturday Doc. I just figured everybody from MN and WI were at the dome watching their favorite QB back in action against the seahawks .

Not sure what to do Dean, the yeah-but-you’re-an-awesome-net-man speech isn’t doing the trick anymore.

It does sound rather convincing though!
