The past couple of days heat & humidity have limited some folks from being on the water to fish. Clive one of the up n coming pro-staffers here, stopped by today for some needed reel maintence and some new line that needed spooled. He reports that the hot sauce oil really works good on his reels and wanted to make sure they were re-oiled for thee next trip out.

Since he was here and the water was pretty close by,it just seemed silly not to make a few casts. Armed with a black bucktail, thinking that a Pike should be ready to eat,the big eye, just under 30 inches smoked his bucktail! A great battle commenced and my hat is off to Clive for not only landing this fish, but releasing it as well after a few pics. I would estimate this fish to be very near the 10 pound mark.I think it is safe to say that 5 year old Clive has a great start of a very promising fishing career!

Please join me with the CONGRATULATIONS CLIVE ! It was an honor to hand you your PB walleye pin today! And thanks for the tip of “not to overlook shallower water for big fish.” Hope I remember that tip!

Clive, Congratulations on a fish that could be…the fish of your lifetime. Better yet, or equally as good, your coach “Mr. Dean” did an awesome job helping steer you into this fish. WAY TO GO !!!

    Hey Clive…

I have a boat and am willing to travel and let you drive. But from the sounds of it I might just need a lawn chair. I’ll bring the ROOT beer and beef jerky.

    Great going!

Congratulations Clive, that is a lot of fish any time of year. And to catch it in the middle of the summer is more of a miracle. It tips the scales more than my biggest walleye too.

    Wow nice fish Clive.

I could have used about three or four of those spinner rigs you got there on Sunday.

Dean – do you have a good stock on those black spinner rigs?
