Doug and I got up bright and early Sunday morning to try to find the numbers of fish that were making it to the boat the last few weeks. Like some others reporting about their trips, I don’t have much to tell. We trolled cranks and crawler harnesses in 7-16 FOW with little to show for our efforts other than some short eyes and sauger with some other odds-n-ends mixed in. We also cast cranks to shallow rocks with the same results – some shorter eyes, bass, northern and drum – with one exception. I caught my PB eye this day. She hit 10-15′ from the boat with a resounding crunch (at least in my head) leaving us wondering what was on the end of my line. But after her first near surface Doug and I saw a white-tipped tail and my adrenaline shot up. Besides an excellent fish catcher, Doug knows his way around a net pretty well too and did a great job putting her in the boat. Thanks my friend
She taped at 27.5″.
