A good friend of mine that I do most my fishing with, was ice fishing a small sand pit pond. Anyway he was fishing and was catching dink perch, your bait would never get to the bottom, Iv’e fished it with him. He had a good hit on it and the fun began. This is 2lb test and after fighting it for a while he pulls out a 23 inch largemouth bass. Does anybody know how much that would weigh? He laid it on the ice next to his ice fishing rod took a picture then let it go. Some people ask why he didn’t keep it and get it mounted, but we do this most the time. Thanks Jim

I would guess about 6-7lbs. I have a 7.5 on the wall that went 22.5 inches in the spring. Where is this pit? Private me if you want.

Last July I caught a 23 incher that looked like a PIG to me. It’s the non-redhead in the picture. It went 5lb 13oz. We put her back to get bigger.

That must of been some struggle with 2lb line!

Sounds like it was alot of fun.

Take the length 23″ and cube it: 23X23X23=12,167 now divide the number 12,167 by 1660= 7.32 pounds or a good fish anywhere.
