    1’ Contours for Mississippi River Pools 1 – 8…!!!
As the “hardwater” season has come to a close in the majority of the upper midwest, fishermen begin to switch their focus. Having traded 30″ fishing rods for 6-7′ rods, many anglers take advantage of the first open water. Between Minnesota and Wisconsin, fishing on the Mississippi river has recently experienced a major advancement. LakeMaster Lake Maps has created high definition 1ft contours for pools 1-8 on the Upper Mississippi River. Mile Markers, Buoys, Wingdams, Access Points, and many more features have been added. Available for Lowrance GPS Units on the Minnesota Version 6 GPS Map & Wisconsin Version 4 GPS Map Cards.

Yes, the Mississippi River 1’ contour info will be integrated into the Humminbird product as part of the next Humminbird product release.

Are our old chips worth anything? 2006 or 07? Trade in?
Didn’t Cabelas used to take trade-ins?

Absolutely they’re worth something. My suggestion would be to sell them in the IDO classifieds (Craig’s List, etc) or to your buddy and get cash. They’re a fairly hot commodity and an easy sell. It is common to get $50 – $75 for one.

Actually there is a pretty sweet deal on a new one on CL right now.

Any idea on when that Humminbird chip will be introduced? I ordered one for my Lowrance, but I really would like to switch everything over soon.

No date has been released but I’d guess it will be part of their annual product release for Humminbird. Early 2011? But that’s just a guess based on next to nothing.

Does it need to be High Def to get all the benefits?

No, this chip is not an Insight chip so you’ll be able to access all the images, detail and features with any color Lowrance unit. You are not limited to an HD unit. Currently I’m using this chip in a Lowrance 112 and an HDS-8 and it works equally well in each unit.

I got this from the Lakemaster Website.

How to see if your iFINDER H2O C is already using version 1.1.0 software:

Like any computer system usually the higher the version number the more up to date the unit is. Is this the same for these units? My H20 C says I have version 1.2.0, do I need 1.1.0 to run this chip? Is there a newer version out that I should be running?

    Anyone? Thanks!

    Guys,

There are a bunch of units that the new LakeMaster chip will not work with. Some sort of display issue they are trying to correct. They have a press release posted on their website with further details.

I’m running a LMS-522 with all the current software upgrades. I put the chip in and I just get a blank screen.

Within the PR they state there is a program to return chips that are having this issue. So I sent them an e-mail to sign me up to get a new chip and they replied by saying to look at the press release. They didn’t give any details on how to return my chip.

In my opinion, very poor custom service.

It will be interesting to see how retailers who already have this chip on their shelves handle this.

I talked to Lakemaster yesterday because my new chip didn’t work in my X-27c or 522c. It did work in 110 and 112 I tried. They are working on fixing the issue and threw out next week as the expected timeline. They were happy to return it if needed or fix it once the repair is released. I’m holding on to it for now.

I know it is in the works but I haven’t heard anything regarding a release date.
