    We had milking males and one mid- or post-spawn female yesterday.

    With water temps in the 46-49 degree range, that came as little surprise.

    Jeff Jensen was up for 2 days I am almost positive we will be reading a report and seeing some pics, last I talked to him yesterday he said something about a 27″ fish that was pushing 10 lbs. and another on got to go.

    Yep. Thanks for the tip Dean… That is what I was using today when I caught my first fish (a walleye of course) with my brand spanking new Pink Pearl St. Croix rod (by the way-I LOVE THAT THING). After that, I got the Firecracker/Chart stuck in a tree and tried other colors all day, without much success. All in all, it was great day to be fishing-after all, any day of fishing is always better than a day at work…

    No, I didn’t have just one. I just wasn’t bright enough to put another one on again until the end of the day… Most of the folks around us were using live bait and baoting way more fish. So, I did the stupid thing and switched to live bait. It was a good lesson learned!
