fished red wing area of pool 4 sat and today and put a smack down on the saugers!! The bite was a little slow at times but managed to put limits in the boat sat. and sunday of nice eaters. sat we fished the morning until about 1 oclock we caught almost all of our fish in 15 to 19 FOW with a verticle presentation using paddle tails and meat. we didnt catch any big fish sat. but today me and my old neighbor and one of his friends (that sold me my new 101 lbs maxum bow mount that i absolutly love) headed down to red wing for the afternoon bite. we got there around 1:30 and fished till just before dark putting our limit of nice eater saugs in the boat smallest 14″ biggest 18 1/2″ and let some nice hogzillas breaking the 20″ mark go too make more saugs for us too catch in a couple years!! today i was using a verticle presentation again with paddle tails and meat both but the fish were a little bit deeper in about 18 to 24 FOW. i did try pitching some slack areas on sat with no luck too but that does not mean it wont work, that should realy pick up later this week with water levels coming down. well good luck and sorry about picture quality i need a digital camera maybe i’ll by myself one for my B-day in a couple weeks…. the cell phone is not even cutting it close!!

Looks like I’m going to have to give up the shallow crap and start vertical jiging. Nice Saugers! Everything from HayCreek sand?

most fish did come from the hay creek area but i did hit two other areas similar to that one and had the same results using same techniques and there were no boats to be seen in them spots.

Nice report Drew! The boys just don’t let up on asking you for your spots do they. You may want to think about streaming your gps cords on the web in the future. This way you can avoid all the “spot” questions.

Looks like a great weekend Drew. I 2nd the streaming of GPS coordinates. It should be a live/real time feed though.

You definitely need to look into a cheap digital. I’m a huge fan of taking lots of pictures.

You can see RW in some of the pictures I wasnt asking for gps coordinates just if thats the area where they were caught. Ya your catching huge walleyes in a backwater cut or something keep tight lipped but catching saugers off a huge sandbar that 50+ boats were fishing on saturday is NO secret. As for cell phone pictures some of the newer cell phones have cameras in them that are as good as a cheep digital. So you can spend money on a camera or a phone with a decent camera in it and then its always with you.

I dont know why some of you are such D-bags about spots…..I thought this web site was about helping eachother catch fish.
