The backchannel ramp had water well into the parking lot yesterday, and the water is a foot higher right now.
Everts had boats in the water yesterday, and has boats in the water today. If there is any way to get on the water later this week, it will be through Everts.
I just got back from Evert’s. On Monday when we got there, we were parking rigs in the sand across from the cabins. The only ramp you can use now is the lower one. The river will need to come up quite a bit more before that one can’t be used. Bite was hot the last couple days too.
Covil Park is open launched there today lots of grass at the ramp.
I was at Everts today and ended up fishing with Tom Gursky and his friend Al. Thanks again Tom for letting me hop in with you guys. On my way home tonight I stopped a Kwik Trip in Red Wing and a guy there told me that they are closing all of the public boat ramps in town after today.
I have no idea why they would close the ramps. Down here on Pool 16 they never do unless the river is closed to traffic do to EXTREME flooding. Even then if your dumb enough to launch a boat you can.
We would love to put in at Evert’s. How’s the parking situation look this weekend Dean? Anybody checked out the conditions at Bay Point, when will it be usable?
Bay point is still frozen as of 1 pm today. The only option at covill is the N landing as the south landing is under water and the parking lot is shrinking fast. Terry Filkins NPAA #180
