Pool 25 way down south at Clarksville, Missouri was slow this weekend. Despite temps in the low 60’s water temp was 39 at the dam and we had a stiff SW breeze with bluebird skies. Few scattered boats about fishing the deep breaklines at 55 feet (Clarksville Lock 24) where the fish were bunched up but not very active. Some smaller Walleye and Sauger being caught on chartreuse jigs with minnows and white twister/minnow combos. I took one 15′ Walleye and a dink on a fuzzy grub in 20 feet of water near the dam and one 18″ fish on a rock shelf north of Hamburg, Illinois on a 3-way with a husky jerk. Fishing will improve by late Feb. as more fish move up. Hope you all had a good weekend…Good Fishun.

Wow…pool 25. That’s the farthest “downstream” of a report I can remember. Keep them comming.
If we ever get a real Minnesota winter one of these years, I’m hooking up a boat and heading down.

January 29, 2002 at 3:24 pm #236761Hey Russ,
how far are you from Table Rock Lake? I will be there with my boat the first week in April.oldrangerPosts: 70January 30, 2002 at 12:42 am #236784Hey Fishhunt! what do you get on Table Rock Lake I go to bronson for the shows and stay at Beaver Lake at a nice cabin but we only been there once am planning on taking my boat next time they catch big hybreds (stripers) on beaver we went in late october it was pretty all the trees were in full color.
January 30, 2002 at 1:39 pm #236801I have only been there once last year, also the first week in April, fishing was slow which is unusual for that time of year as the spawn is kicking in then. Table Rock is a big Bass lake, The Bass Masters hold tournamets there. I have a friend in town that has relitives down there he is going to hook me up with to show me where the Walleye are in Table Rock, I would think that the Walleye do not get much pressure, as Bass fishing is very popular there, hopefully there are some really BIG EYES on Table Rock!
January 30, 2002 at 3:57 pm #236806hey there fishunt58,if i remember right, table rock has an eye or two in the top 20 big eye’s,seems to me i read that somewhere, would’nt mind going there sometime myself, eyesrit

I’m just ouside of St.Louis, so the “Rock” is about 4.5 hours away in SW Missouri. If your taking the family, Table Rock is great…The Lake scenery is awesome and there’s lots to do in Branson and of course Bass Pro Shops is close by. But the fishing although improving has been tough. And is better generally as a smallmouth and spotted bass lake then a largemouth. Some monster Walleye but they always seem scattered to me. I great April trip is Lake of the Ozarks, generally the bass are really on and 5 fish limits of 20# are pretty common. Last April I saw two 9# fish weighed in one tournamnet, glad I did’nt fish that one. Anyway I spemd alot of time on Lake of the Ozarks but don’t get to Table Rock often.
If you need info on any Missouri Lakes let me know between me and my buddies we stay pretty current on our intelligence. If you want to head to Lake of the Ozarks the Osage River below the dam has a good population of of 4-5# pound Walleye. So if you change your plans, I’m confident I can put you on some fish there but will have to do some scouting for you at Table Rock. Shoot me an e-mail when you get a chance and I’ll get you hooked up. Good Fishun

January 31, 2002 at 11:02 pm #236835Hey “Old Ranger”
I haven’t been on Beaver for about 8 years so I’m probably the wrong guy to ask for a quick answer. But for the record; I don’t like big strippers they look funny in G-Strings and jiggle too much (Just Kidding) I’ll do some research for you,and get back to ya. I have a good line on the stipers at Norfolk which is close-by to Beaver and those fish are massive. Talk to you soon…Good Fishun.
