Spent most of Sunday trying Pool 2 for the first time in spring. I spend most of my time on Pool 4. I live in st. paul so I fish in Summer but spring never before. Went out around 11am spent the day dragging ringworms. Had a great day boated many large saugers 4lb plus. One of my best ave size of saugers. Largest being 22.5 close to 5.5lb. no picture I was by myself. I saw a few fish being caught but I was the only guy graggin. Up steam at .5 was the ticket. Caught only 1 walley being a fat 24.5 at 5.4lbs. I caught more then anyone else I saw. With 2-5 each pass. Looks like I will be up there more in the spring.

We also had a good Saturday afternoon bite on P2. Ended up with a total of 26 walleye / sauger fishing from 1-6pm. No huge size; biggest were a bit over 20”. Still really nice consistent action

I was out with IDO member Timschmitz on Sunday. Great time on the river capped by his catch of “The Holy Grail” of roughfish. I’m sure he’ll post some photos soon. Congrats on the catch of a lifetime!

The bite was still pretty good today. Lots of big saugers.

I finally connected on a couple of toad saugers today dragging upstream as well. It was slow out there; but it was nice to connect on some fish dragging. it has been pretty much vertical for me up til now.

The bite was much slower today. Had to spend a fair amount of time moving around to locate some active fish. Did manage to get some walleyes and huge saugers going on purple cracker paddle tails. The flow was up very little from Monday. I would expect this to change soon.

If I am not working tomorrow I am going down to Lilydale and move some big chunks of ice. It looked today with a little work and a little more melting it might be usable soon.

Somebody also mentioned Fort Snelling ramp. Fogeddabowdit!

its worse than Lilydale. But if you want to see a

ton of deer and a bunch of turkeys hanging around by the roads Fort Snelling Park is a fun drive

Enough to walk on and jump in a boat… Right?
