Brother and myself want to try something different so thinking about doing pool 4 next weekend. Neither one of us are walleye guys but willing to try anythig. Want to get into the multi species fishing, for fun and food. So would this be a good time to go down to Everts?
Yep. Now thru mid-may is great! Heck it’s generally always decent.

Mid Fall to late Spring IS always a good time to fish Pool 4.
Evert’s is the only place to launch a boat, and Dean would be more than happy to get you started on jigs and baits to use, and a general idea where to start and try.
Do do anything he tells you to do. If you call him first that you are coming, if the fishing has not been too good lately, he will tell you so, so you can come a different time.
But generally now thru mid April can be very good to exceptional. There are very few bad days in the next 6 to 7 weeks.
