I found FTR only one month ago since then I have logged every day and have read all the aricles and all the posted messages. I print them all and have lamenated them so I can slip them in my tackle box to us as a reference when I take to the river. I just got my first baot and can’t wait to hit the river and try some of the techniques mentioned. You guys have really tapped into something big here keep it up. Hope to meet some of you out and about this fishing season.

    Thanks Jon,

As you can tell by my last post typing is not my strong suite. If I would have the internet was going to be so big I would have went to typing class instead of sleeping in. lol.

    Broken Knuckles,

I think one of the better things about this website is the fact that most every user has found a way to communicate in a civil manner. Ripping on people here will gain you nothing!

Most folks, including myself could really care less about spelling/grammer.

Jon J., Didn’t mean to offend but I don’t have the time to read through a bunch of jumbled sentences. My time on the internet is short and valuable so it would be nice to read posts that atliest resemble english. Thanks -BK

If you don’t have time to read jumbled posts, then you certainly don’t have time time to rip the guy!

By the way…you have 2 grammer errors and a mis-spelled word in your post! None of us are perfect…

Look, January has got to be the longest month of the winter…. it’s too easy to take the low road. Keep your chin up Broken Knuckles.

    Hey Red Rock Eyes

Welcome to the board and don’t worry about the spelling I know when I am talking about fishing I get all messed up and can’t think about anything else. what kind of boat did you buy and what pool are you fishin?

just remember good spelling doesn’t catch fish. Trust me I am a prime example of that.

    Talk to you later

I have to echo Jon J’s sentiments. I’ve visited many web sites and what keeps this place up on the top is that we treat eachother with respect almost all of the time. Life is too short to nit-pick about somebodys grammar and typing ability.

Another thing is that the 2 guys that own the site are 2 of the nicest guys that you’ll ever meet and if you get on their bad side, they’ll let you know that people bashing won’t be tolerated. So read what you want and if you find it too disturbing………..skip it. Nobody forces you to read anything. The last thing that a new visitor needs is somebody jumping on him.

So, Broken Knuckles, I see you are a rookie here as well. So welcome to you too. I hope you find FTR/FTL enjoyable and educational.

so Red Rock… you from around Des Moines? just wondering if that was the Red Rock you are using? I never keyed in on the “Red Rock Eyes”….. though I fished the river between the Saylorville dam and RedRock quite a bit… lots of eyes in that river…. LOTS of them…… best fishing for ‘eyes in central Iowa….. by far….

Honest politician…………it’d be a nice change if you could get elected! Problem is, I’m not sure you qualify. YOU actually work, help others for free, and make yourself available to a public audience. Now, if you could impose a reading tax on your articles……………J/K! FTR is part of the American stew pot and we all need to just accept each other in spite of some of our personal shortcomings. So welcome to the coolest “stewpot” on the net! Keep it light!

Stew! did someone mention stew? Is that PETA stew? You know people eatting tasty animals stew.Warms your inerds up after a hard day on old miss .tortuering minnows and such. Sometimes I add my dead minnows to peta stew , it gives you xtra flavor and it takes a real man to eat something that stares back at you.

Well I’m glad to see everybody is so buddy buddy on here. I just noticed that even the title for this thread is all messed up. Everyone, myself included, makes mistakes but some people just seem really stupid. Anyways, thanks for accepting me into the group. -BK

    Nate,

I know what you mean about getting all pumped when talking fishing. I bought a used 16 foot Legend with a 25 Evinrude, bow mount trolling motor,Eagle graph with a Vexlar up front

Can’t wait to get it out. I fish the St. Croix near Stillwater and Marine also Pool 4 near Red Wing. I have much to learn but hey thats the fun of fishing.

Yea, it’s a pretty good group. Been kicking around this site since it came on-line. There has always been a kind of un-written rule that everyone seems buys into….questions, answers, opinions, jokes all welcome. But if it does not add anything constructive, keep a lid on it. Seems to work.

Your “Rip” wasn’t anything to get excited over!! I apologize if I have offended anyone. On other sites, I have seen a little rip turn into month long bitch sessions that go nowhere. Especially this time of year. I’d hate to see anything like that here.

Thanks for all the replies. I hope to meet some of you on the rivers this spring. I will be the one all snagged up and zig zagging as I try to stay on the fish with the graph. LOL. New to this river fishing thing, Have only been in the co pilots seat or as I call it the ” fish slaying seat” so it will be interesting being the captain. I am planning on heading down to Red Wing next weekend although it looks like the fishing has gotten a bit harder over the past days. All you can do is try the worst thing that happens is you spend a great day out on the river with good friends.

Red Rock Eyes – If you fish the red rock lake down by Knoxville, I would appreciate any tips as far as ‘eyes or even panfish in that lake. I have a son-in-law and daughter in that area and although I prefer pool 4 in Red Wing, I usually end up down there two to three times a summer. Have not had much luck fishing the area. A lot of water, and too little time on it. Any tips would be helpful.

    Thanks

This site is the reason I spent $1100.00 on a computer. Funny how we never give it a thought about spending money for something related to fishing but if spent for something else we cry about it. It must be the fishing addict part of us. Oh well, fish on!
