Brief pool 4 outing

I got a chance to take the new rig for a test drive today at pool 4 – man it felt good to be back on the water

The fishing was secondary but I still manage to put a few fish in the boat but nothing big. I saw a bunch of fish caught from the deep hole below the dam but mostly small fish except for the big paddlefish that I saw get hooked up. I did try some blades and ringworms without much luck and caught most of my fish on life bait.

There were not many rigs on the water today, about 8 when I put in around 10:30 and 6 left when I left at 2:00.

The good news was that everything worked on the boat and that F75 Yamaha is one heck of motor, just awesome, I just wish the fishing was as good as that motor.

What new rig did you buy?

I picked up an ’05 Alumacraft Magnum 175 tiller. I like the boat but still have an ’04 Navigator 175 tiller that I might move the motor to. There are some better features on the Mag. but the Nav. has more rod storage and seems to ride a little higher in the water being a wider boat.

Here are some pics of the Mag 175. The Yamaha is the real reason I bought it.

I own a 2008 Navigator with that same motor and I love it! Great motor!

The evening bite has been pretty good, too bad you didnt have time to stick around and check it out. As you stated next time

It’s a good thing the ramps at Everts are always open

Yeah, I was hoping the snow was going to hold off until later but living 100 miles away I decided to head out a little early.

They do a great job with the ramps and we are very fortunate to have that option this time of the year. Hats off to all the Everts guys for the job you do.

    Until next time…

Hey Dave, Congrats on the “new rig” It’s going to be hard to tell the two of us apart now unless by the motors.Your rig and mine are almost carbon copies of one another. There’s a ton of room in the boat..Good choice. Dave shoot me a PM @ [email protected] Mikey

Thanks Dean. Not much you can do about the bite, besides I was playing as much as I was fishing. I dropped off some cookies but I’m not sure if there were still there when you got back.

    I’ll be back
